Recognizing Shoes

Yesterday before leaving work, I decided it best to pop into the bathroom to avoid any accidents on my long commute home.

Once in the stall, I immediately looked at the floor of the stalls on either side of me. One pair red and tan tennis shoes, one pair black sandals. Check.

Then I listened intently. Red & tan finished up first and exited the stall. I watched Red & Tan walk toward the sinks and assumed I'd soon hear the sound of water faucets . But no. Red & Tan exited the bathroom.

And sadly that happens quite often at my workplace.

Hence my uh foot fetish...I mean my need to recognize shoes.

Because dammit I want to know whose hand not to shake, whose food not to eat at the potluck and most of all I want to know who to run away from screaming when invited to their home for tea and crumpets (because if they're this nasty at work, they've got to be exponentially nastier at home...oh and yes I get invited to tea and crumpets quite often if you're wondering)

Washing hands after using the terlit - $3.00 (1.50 water usage, 1.00 soap usage, $0.50 for paper towel)

Not washing hands after using the terlit - Shameless! (and dirty and stanky and nasty)

How astute of you to think ahead and check shoes. I think I personally would just rather not know...I try my best to not become a germaphob, and this would send me right on that path.

Maybe there should be an office-wide hand washing campaign. Hmmm..you'd just think maybe a bunch of educated adults would know better. Yuck.

Good plan, checking the shoes. Make sure you don't use red and tan's keyboard or phone either. :-P

How funny. Our office has a list. Once you've been marked, it's curtains.

I am OBSESSED with shoe checking! Luckily, in the five+ years I've worked here, it's only happened maybe two or three times - and it's been guests or clients who have been visiting, not my co-workers.

But I SO hear you on this subject. You have no idea!!!!!!

Make up an inter-office memo that there will be a list of non-hand-washing-employees starting as of today. See if it garners any results.

I H-A-T-E when people don't wash their hands after using the bathroom. I am so anal about washing my hands that it grosses me out when they don't! As a new mommy I am even more aware of those who don't wash. When I'm changing my son in the bathroom of a store and someone does that I use my anywhere-sanitizing spray on the door handle AND use a wipey to open the door. Then I proceed to let my husband, sister-in-law, anyone I talk to or am near after that what just happened. If I see that person in the store I'm sure to point her out to my husband:) Oh, and I make sure while changing my son to talk loudly about that person, I can't help it, to him so that anyone else in the restroom knows that I'm paying attention and then of course they proceed to wash their hands so they're not talked about.

"terlit"
Ha!

My favorite is when women with Looong fingernails don't wash. Do they realize what's under those things?
Ick.

hahaha, I knew what this post was about just from the title! I have often found myself looking at people's shoes to see if they are the a-holes that just left without washing. It happens a lot here, too. But the worst for me is the people who turn on the water for half a second, THEN touch the dryer (but don't use it, because their hands aren't friggin wet - energy HOGS!), THEN they touch the door. So, they spread their disgusting pee germs to everything I have to touch in order to clean my hands. I would love to catch someone someday. I would TOTALLY say something.
