The Anniversary Update

So I'm blue no more as I just got back from a 2 hour lunch at this place. To die for food and great restaurant concept.

I don't typically like to eat a heavy lunch during the work week but since it was on the 'ol bosses dime I splurged and got Flat Iron Steak with Bleu Cheese Sauce and then I topped that off with the Strawberry Rhubarb Fruit Crumble a la mode. Oh and a Diet Coke (my nectar of the Gods...well really I would have preferred wine but drunken Worker Mommy and workplace would not make for a good combination)

Lunch was filled with congratulatory messages and stories of ass crazy people that asked my boss for pee to drink several years ago. (Uh yeah, really)

All in all it was good clean fun and I didn't even whine about how the celebration was three days late

Excluding the fact that I was almost run over by a bike courier while attempting to cross the street on the way back to work it was a great way to finally commemorate my 5th anniversary.
Well, excluding the near death experience and the fact that I still haven't received my damn service award.

Aaah baby steps right.

Now that you've been properly updated I shall crawl under my desk and sleep off the carb coma.

Crawl under your desk? Are you blogging at work?

you should bring one of those dog sleeping pads for under your desk to make it more comfy

At least you have your own office. Nobody can write bad stuff on your forehead like in that McD's commercial!

Glad you got to go out! That place looks awesome!

Mmm...One of the Elf Ladies (there is a group of people at my work that I SWEAR work for Santa! [and I'm not being insensitive, they don't have a disease, they are just short and round]) made Strawberry Rhubarb Upside Down cake and apparently I'm *cool* with the AARP crowd now, so she brought me a piece. It was heavenly. Made me miss the farm.

Uh Badoozie, should I be offended - why a dog bed :)

HaHa Butfly- You hip gal! I LOVE that you're down with the AARP crowd! It could have its pluses should be able to con them in to sharing their multitude of discounts w/you right?

Definitely try it Yerdoingitwrong. I only had one dish but I hope to go back at some point and try more!

my former boss to us to a monthly martini lunch...ah those were the days. happily he still works nearby and a few of us meet him on occasion to maintain the tradition, which can also lead one to take a rest under their desk!
