    Hey there!

Valentine's ehh? When I was in college, the love of my life, Joe, and soon to be daddy, decided to romance me by candlelight in his dorm room. He had all the details down...the candlelight, the mood music..even the boxed macaroni and cheese. Really, it was sweet..

That is..until..the horrible roommate decided to come back with his drunk and not so romantic girlfriend. Ehh, so at least we've had many other wonderful Valentine's..and this year, with three of us, it's even better!

crap. I didn't post my memory. hehe. It's my brain dead Friday. My fave valentines memory is when hubby and I attempted to go out to dinner. And the places we chose were middle of the road. We didn't think we'd need reservations. Well, we didn't but the wait times were 1 hr and then some. So we went to Wendy's and shared a biggie fry and a window table. hehe. Ever since then we have tried to make V day as white trash as possible. One year we got a heart shaped pepperoni pizza from Papa Murphy's. heeeheeeeeee!!!

    pick me. ;)

My husband decided to surprise me with flowers one year on valentines day -- until I realized that they were potted Easter tulips. They came complete with a white Easter basket that he was totally oblivious to. We always joke that he's the booksmart one and I have all the common sense, and this was one of those moments that proved it.

I once forgot my husband's birthday by three days. And then we both forgot our anniversary. Then the next year he forgot about Valentine's day.
After that Valentine's we figured that we were hopeless at ever remembering dates and holidays. We are possibly the only couple in the world that celebrates things when we happen to remember them. Last year Valentine's was held on the 18th. Because that's when we remembered.
    Sad right?

Mine is kinda weird. I was hospitalized actually in Feb 2001-and my sorta boyfriend who I dated all through high school and college (who is now my husband) was in college in North Carolina at the time, I went to school Philadelphia. Since we were long distance we basically emailed and IM'ed. He went away the weekend before I went into the hospital, so I really didn't talk to him all week. Valentine's day came and he emailed me, I didn't respond. I actually was able to check my email that evening (valentines day) I received the email from him and I emailed back the hospital number. He called and was like "WHERE are you WHAT happened" " I was sooo worried, that I lost you" "NOW I know I LOVE you" I responded " I"m so glad me almost dying made you realize you love me" I always knew he loved me, I guess almost losing someone makes you understand you know what you have until it's gone. We got married 6 years later and have a wonderful baby girl.
TO this day, we recognize Feb 14 as our anniversary on the day we "fell' in love.

my fave memory is from when my Hubby and I first got married. We didn't have enough $$ that first V Day to do anything and he knew I was a little depressed about it, so he made me a heart card out of construction paper and a candlelight "picnic" on the living room floor. It was so cute and unforgettable!

iwantitiwantitiwantit! My most memorable Valentine's day was over the top and ended disasterously:

Just out of highschool...new-ish boyfriend was at work. Snuck into his apartment and painted it red with streamers, hearts and glitter confetti. Made an all red dinner, steak, dyed red mashed potatoes and a beet salad (beet salad? Who makes a beet salad for a 19 year old?), red velvet cake in the shape of a heart. He looked totally shocked when he came home - and not in such a good way - to the mess that was his apartment and my tacky Frederick's of Hollywood candy red negligee. After dinner we made out and I decided to spank a heart into his ass, a clap with the left hand and a clap with the right - voila!

He didn't call me the next day and all the days beyond that. Is there such a thing as being over zealous...?

nice giveaway! My favorite Valentine's day was when Bill and I went a fancy schmancy Italian resturant. We had a lovely dinner in a private booth. On our way out, I fell down the small "watch your step" step and went face first on the concrete. My leftover eggplant (and sauce) went all over the brand new suede Coach purse that was my gift. I limped to the car and we went home. Later on, I had to go the ER. I severely sprained my ankle. YEP...Valentine's day in a cast and crutches. So there wasn't any nooky that night..:)

Back for our first V-day, my then boyfriend (now hubby) surprised me by calling from his cell phone and telling me that he had something special delivered to my hotel room (I was doing my student teaching and living in a hotel). When I opened the door, there he stood with flowers in his hands and tears in his eyes - I was speechless!

So as an entry, I'll write about the Jewish holiday that falls about this time, Purim. The remembrance of the story of Queen Ester. This is known as a "drinking holiday". My first Purim with my DH we were far from any Synagouge, so we read the Megilla (story) on our own and got down to drinking. I tried to keep up with the rabbi, but he has a much higher tolerance than I. so here we were knocking back vodka and water until I was *literally* under the table, drunk as a fish. I slept a little off, and them nature called. I sat down to take care of business and at some point passed out, fell off the toilet, hit my head on the tub, and scared my poor DH into thinking I had broken my neck. As he was bending over me (having figured out I was alive)I promptly puked all over him.
    Poor guy.
Jewish holidays, lots of fun, not so romantic.

A couple of years ago, my DH took me to a B&B where they do those theme rooms. This room was so fun. It had a big screen TV, putting green, Foozball, and a huge heart-shaped jetted tub right in the middle of the room! We watched Chocolat and had yummy chocolate fondue with romance oozing all over the place. It was a great time all around. Now we don't live in that area of the country, but I'll always have great memories of that V-day!

My favorite Valentines Day memory was in 2007. I dressed up our then-5-month-old daughter in an adorable outfit with pink stripe pants and a pink sweater with hearts on it. I then printed out a sign that read, "Happy Valentines Day Daddy!" I conducted a mini photo shoot with my daughter "holding" the sign and then e-mailed the pictures to my husband at his office. He loved it and proudly showcased the photos to all of his coworkers!

Last year was our craziest Valentines day. I was pregnant and he wanted to do something special for our last valentines day without children. We live in a small town, so it was hard to surprise me, but he did. He wrote out these clues to where we were going and took me in circles getting there (it took an hour). Well the food was great, but the restaurant's heat wasn't working and it was 45 degrees during dinner. So my last valentines day before my son was sure a crazy one.

Anyone who knows me well knows that I love those little chalky heart candies they sell around every Valenties day; however, I love the pink colored hearts the best. One Vday, my best friend gave me a huge heart shaped tin filled with only the pink heart candies. Apparently, she bought a TON of boxes of hearts and picked out just the pink ones for me. I thought it was a sweet (no pun intended) gift and one that showed how much she loved me!

My sweet high school boyfriend got up super-early one year to put a trail of roses in the snow out to my car. :)

After presenting me with roses, my husband--then boyfriend--took me to dinner for our first Valentine's Day as a couple. It was a pretty nice restaurant, a tad fancier than we had been to before, especially since we were both fresh out of college and keeping track of every penny. We enjoyed a lovely meal, and he asked for the check.

And when the check arrive and he reached for his credit card, that's when he discovered he had left his wallet at home!

After he suggested the option of "dining and dashing," to which I rolled my eyes, I sheepishly produced my credit card, trying to not let this mishap ruin the evening.

We still laugh about that Valentine's Day--it's healthy to have romance in the midst of life's many imperfections!

OK, so he didn't, but I sure felt that way! And he paid for it for 15 years until the story won my a personalized box of fruit roll ups!

My fave valentines was with my hubby two yrs after i got married. i was away for the first one so this was the first one we were going to spend together. I was pregnant and was going through my first trimester. After having dinner, i was exhausted and went to sleep. A lil while later I woke up and told him I wasn't feeling well. He came to sit by me and I told him, I'm going to puke! It was so close, that he just put his hands under my mouth so i could puke there. At that time i didnt have the energy to ask him to grab the bag right next to me instead. But once I puked in his hands, i knew he was a keeper! I know i wouldnt do that for ANYONE. but just this act let me know he loved me for real, and it is the coziest feeling ever. Altho he has prooved his love in ways, way more delighting as that, this is something i will never forget for as long as i live.

I'd love to be entered. Thanks!

my favorite V-Day was my first with a boyfriend...and that first boyfriend is now my hubby. being that it was our first V-day together we wanted it to be special, but hubby really wasn't feeling well. He made such an effort to still go out for dinner, and he made me the sweetest card - because he wasn't feeling well enough to go out and buy one. He made it through dinner, but a few days later we found out he had a really bad case of mono. poor guy :)

I was never big on V-Day. After this year, I don't think it will grow on me any.

But I totally wish I would have entered this!! My SIL is due in June!!
