WWYDW - Installment 2

It's Wednesday, my lovelies and y'all know what that means.

It's time for What would you do ? Wednesday .

Don't know what it's all about. Go here and find out.

Thanks to everyone that participated last week. Since it wasn't a complete bomb we'll try it again. But first I thought I'd post what I would have done given the situation.

Honestly, I'd offer to help the woman get in her car but beyond that wouldn't necessarily confess to grazing her vehicle. Since I'd inspected her vehicle and seen no physical damage I can't be sure that the internal damage (if any) was caused by me. But I love that you all are much better people than I and would immediately fess up.

This week's situation:

You're walking down the street and stumble upon a $20 bill. You look around briefly and then bend down to snatch up the bill. Just as you start to grab it, a pleasant looking individual comes up and says "Oh thank goodness you found it. I must have dropped it while rushing to catch my bus." What would you do ?

Eh, I'd give the person the $20 whether I believed it was his/hers or not. $20 isn't worth getting into a pissing match over, and if they were lying they can deal with their own conscience over it.

i'd make sure the bill amount was hidden and ask the person how much it was. sure, they could get a lucky guess...but why were they using a $20 to get on the bus?

I'd give it to them. It may or may not be theirs, but it sure as hell isn't mine! :)

I would probably give it to them. Like Groovy Mom said, $20 isnt worth getting into a pissing match over. But then again, it could buy dinner for that night ;).

I would give it to them and then probably wondering all day whether or not it was really there's and most likely even do a blog post on it! Actually I did randomly find a $20 bill on the ground when I was in high school.

Easy come, easy go - I'd give it up. If it was a fifty, now then I'd have to do some head stompin'.

I'm not one to think quickly on my feet so I'd hand over the cash and then wonder for the rest of the day if I did the right thing...

And can I be a total ass and trump alex elliot for a hot minute? I found a 1.55 carat diamond on a parking garage floor in 1996. No one was around, so I got a ring made out of it.

I would give it to them and wonder the rest of the day if they just screwed me out of the lost $20.00.

It's only $20. Maybe it is their's but even if it isn't ...they did try. $20 is not going to make any difference in my life. If it means something to them then why not give it to them?

If they dropped it rushing to the bus did they miss the bus or were they rushing yesterday and expecting to see the money still there today?

I'm exactly with Groovy Mom over this. Let him or her have it.

When I was 11, I found a $20 bill in the street, outside the bar that was often frequented by my dad and his brothers. I actually walked in there to see if anyone had lost it, and 3 or 4 of the old guys sitting around the bar jokingly tried to claim it, until the bartender said that anyone who tried to take it from me could get the hell out of his bar. So I got to keep the $20 (which was big money for me at 11)

I agree with Goovy---I would give them the benefit of the doubt. $20 is not going to make my life better, and it may just be their last $20 until payday.

yeah I'd give it up too...most people don't think THAT quickly on their feet so I'd assume they were telling the truth rather than a premeditated $20 snatch..

I'd use the $20 to buy some roids for pool...just kidding. I would too fork it over. Because you know if I didn't it would eat at me like crazy forever. And who knows if they are a whacko that rides the bus packing heat?

I'd hand it over.

Give it to them. I have one though. I found $160 once on the sidewalk. I asked people around and waited for a harried looking person to come down the street looking for it. I was having money trouble at the time and couldn't pay my car insurance, the money covered it, but I've always felt guilty about not splitting it with my roommate who was with me at the time.

I'd give it to them but go around the rest of the day feeling like I had been scammed.

I would probably just give it to them although I don't think if it was reversed anyone would do the same for me!
The person in front of me left $1 in the money return at the auto checkout of Walmart the other day - I used it for my purchase. I didn't feel guilty.
